Are you an advanced diver seeking an extraordinary encounter?

Every year, approximately from November to March, pregnant bull shark females visit Playa del Carmen. Don’t miss your chance to observe these stunning creatures, only a short distance from one of the city’s most popular beaches. Immersed at 24 meters (79ft), we remain motionless on a dedicated spot on the sea floor, observing these majestic creatures as they circle us in a docile and inquisitive demeanour, contrasting common film and media portrayals. Coexisting peacefully with humans, Playa del Carmen’s bull sharks offer a unique and captivating dive experience.

Following this unforgettable dive, we’ll explore a shallow yet stunning nearby reef site.

  • Equipment (mask, regulator, wetsuit, BCD, fins).
  • Marine park fee.
  • Boat with filled air tanks and weights.

  • Roughly, from mid-November to March. However, some years, the females already leave by mid-January. It all depends on the temperature of the winter waters. You can contact us to find out if the bullsharks ladies are around!
  • Advanced Open Water and minimum of 10 dives.
  • Meeting Point: When you book your, dive we set up a time to meet in CocoBeach to get ready.
  • Briefing: You’ll receive detailed information about the dive plan.
  • Boat: When we’re ready, we head to the boat to set up tanks, equipment, and weights.
  • Let’s dive! We’ll have ONE DIVE with the Bull Sharks, followed by a SECOND DIVE in shallower waters in Playa del Carmen’s reef. During our surface interval, we’ll have drinking water and small snacks.
  • Transportation (location is in Playa del Carmen’s downtown).
  • Nitrox, available at an extra cost on request (certified nitrox divers only).
  • Boat crew tips (not mandatory, optional if you feel they provided excellent service).
